The question: a family physician abroad, whose husband made a refugee claim in Canada listing her and their child, asks whether she can apply through Express Entry and whether that could harm either of them.
Where you stand
You can apply to Express Entry as the principal applicant. If you declare your husband as not accompanying you, IRCC scores you as if you had no spouse; your estimated score on that basis is 468 (sample figure). The last two healthcare-category rounds, on 25 June and 4 September 2026, invited candidates from 475. For comparison, an official April 2026 briefing says a new refugee claim waits about three years for a first decision, and protected persons' permanent residence took 45 months; IRCC processes most Express Entry applications within six months.
What's strong
Four years as a family physician fall under NOC 31102, which the healthcare category accepts when the experience was gained abroad within the last three years. Your husband already listed you and your child in his claim, which keeps you eligible to be included in his permanent-residence application if it succeeds.
What's missing
No language test and no Educational Credential Assessment are on file. Doctors get their assessment from the Medical Council of Canada. Your marriage date, your child's details and your addresses must match his file exactly; an inconsistency can be treated as misrepresentation.

- What does one application mean?
- One destination and pathway you are actually pursuing: Canada Express Entry, say, or the Germany Opportunity Card. The purchase attaches to that application and covers it for 12 months.
- I am considering two countries. Do I pay twice?
- Comparing is free. The score, the pathway comparison, and sourced answers cost nothing for every destination. You pay only for the application you decide to build.
- Does it renew?
- No. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. If your case is still open at 12 months, email support@hijraah.com and we extend it.
- What payment methods are accepted?

- Is there a refund?
