International Teleworker Visa Document Checklist

Legible copy of your complete passport
Every page of a valid passport or travel document (Arts. 62.3a and 74 quinquies.1).
Proof of paying the tasa (modelo 790 038)
EUR 73.26, paid by the holder and again by each family member on the application.
Contract proving a relationship of at least three months
Your labour or professional contract with the foreign company, showing at least 3 months as at the date of application. Proof of a LABOUR relationship does not satisfy a professional one, or the reverse — the two are not interchangeable.
Proof the foreign company has traded for at least a year
An official commercial-registry certificate, or the equivalent in the company's country, showing real and continuous activity for at least 1 year (Art. 74 ter a).
Payslips or invoices for the last three months
Showing gross income of at least EUR 2442 per month. The threshold is GROSS, before tax and social security — comparing it against your take-home pay will understate what you have.
Bank certificate for the last three months
In your own name, stamped and signed by the bank, showing the payments that match your payslips or invoices. Mark those movements separately so they can be identified.
Letter from the foreign company authorising remote work
Stating your role and main functions, expressly declaring the work can be done by telematic means, giving your salary in euros, and setting out the conditions of the remote arrangement.
Curriculum vitae
Translated; a simple translation is accepted for the CV.
Degree OR three years of equivalent experience
Either a graduate or postgraduate qualification from a recognised university, vocational school or business school, OR at least 3 years in analogous functions. This is a choice, not both — experience is evidenced by an official work-history record plus employer certificates, or a certificate of professionalism.
Social security documentation
Employees: the foreign company's registration with Spanish social security plus a commitment to enrol you in the Régimen General. Self-employed: a commitment to register with RETA. Alternatively, a certificate of applicable legislation from your home country's social security body, which must expressly cover working remotely from Spain — a pending request is not accepted.
Criminal-record certificate
From each country you have lived in during the last 2 years. This is the CERTIFICATE window; the separate declaration below covers a longer period.
Sworn declaration of no criminal record
A declaración responsable covering the last 5 years of residence. Separate from the certificate above and covering a longer period — treating the two as one requirement is a common refusal.
Public or private health insurance
Cover equivalent to the Spanish National Health System. Travel insurance is not accepted, nor are policies that only reimburse expenses, nor any policy with co-payments or waiting periods. Not needed if you will join Spanish social security once authorised.
Sworn translation of any document not in Spanish
Public documents must be translated by a traductor jurado authorised by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and legalised or apostilled by the issuing country.
