Form EX-01, completed and signed
The official application form for initial non-lucrative temporary residence, signed by the applicant.
Full copy of your passport
Every page, with at least 12 months of validity remaining — longer than the six months most routes ask for.
Criminal-record certificate
From your country of origin and from every country you have lived in during the last 5 years. Note this is a longer window than the teleworker route asks for.
Proof of sufficient financial means
At least EUR 2400 per month for yourself, plus EUR 600 per month for each family member, for the whole period applied for. Any form of proof is accepted — property deeds, certified cheques, or credit cards with a bank certificate of the available credit.
Private health insurance
Public or private cover arranged with an insurer authorised to operate in Spain. This route does not give access to the Spanish public health system.
Medical certificate
Certifying that you carry none of the diseases with serious public-health implications under the 2005 International Health Regulations.
Proof of paying the fee (modelo 790 052)
Modelo 790 052, epígrafe 2.1.1. Due within ten working days of filing. The amount varies by nationality under reciprocity agreements, so check the figure your consulate publishes.
Sworn translation of any document not in Spanish
Public documents must be translated by a traductor jurado authorised by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and legalised or apostilled by the issuing country.
